Automate ELISA Methods in Microtitre Plates with Flexus Assay
12/04/07: The Anachem Flexus Assay is the ultimate robotic workstation designed for the full automation of the ELISA method on standard microtitre plates. This flexible, walk-away system is based on the Anachem Flexus automated liquid handling platform and is specifically designed for ELISA based applications. This unique system offers innovative solutions such as micro annular gear pumps and a 270° rotating microplate gripper, making this the most powerful workstation in its field. Such fast and flexible control creates unsurpassed automation.
The Flexus Assay automates the complete ELISA protocol, including sample pre-dilution and dispensing, reagent multi-pipetting, plate incubation, washing and shaking, plate reading and data reduction with real-time elaboration and report. The platform also has an incorporated reader for semi-automated bar code reading of samples, plates and reagents, and includes comprehensive software tracks for sample identification from receipt to result, and enables processing by batch or by work list. For safer processing barcode identification for samples, reagents, plates liquid and clot detection is independent for each probe.
The standard Flexus Assay is available with either 2 or 4 pipetting channels with a choice to use washable tips that have a decontamination process to prevent sample and reagent carry-over or disposable tips, all which have completely independent Y and Z axis movement. The Flexus Assay has a robotic handler for plate manipulation that allows up to 5 plates to be simultaneously incubated at different temperatures, and can schedule and process up to 6 plates in parallel with room temperature incubation only. It can accommodate 160 samples, 6 diluents and 90 reagents on modular racks so multiple test panels can share the same plate.
The Flexus Assay user-friendly application software facilitates user interaction to the system and also simplifies the test method implementation, instrument preparation and assay execution follow-up. The Dynamic Run Manager schedules the steps of each assay before the run commences, and also provides a real time update of the test/plate process sequence.
